What is Canine Nutritionist?
Dietary factors (including treats) play an enormous role in the health of our animals. Better nutrition provides an overall boost in the immune system and improved health over the long term with less stress on the pet’s organs. When a specific disease is present, modifying the diet can assist in the restoration of health. At different life stages, your pet will need a varied diet. A Canine Nutritionist considers the pet’s age, activity level and health, your own time and lifestyle, and the season before formulating an individualised diet plan.
How does it work?
There are six primary nutrients: water, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins. These essential nutrients are required as part of a dog’s regular diet to meet their energy needs and to maintain and repair body tissues. To ensure an optimum healthy weight range, the amount you feed your pet is based on their size and energy output.
Canine Nutrition may help with:
- Diarrhoea/digestive diseases preventing the absorption of nutrients
- Lack of energy
- Poor skin/coat
- Vitamin deficiency
- Weight reduction
How will my pet respond?
Using a slow transition to a raw diet (in some cases up to 12 weeks) will allow your dog time to produce the digestive enzymes needed to break down the raw food, so they don’t suffer from gastrointestinal upset and diarrhoea. Over time, you should notice the difference in your dog’s energy, coat, and general health.
Every animal is unique; your pet will be assessed for the most suitable treatment and referred to the appropriate practitioner.
“Sue was out-of-this-world amazing! My French bulldog suffered a back injury, and before I even booked an appointment, Sue was able to give me advice and support to ensure Morris was well looked after. Her knowledge and advice beyond Morris’ injury really helped and guided me to make better decisions for his diet and nutrition in order to support his health and to prevent other health-related issues. Sue has years of knowledge and expertise, and her energy working with animals is truly amazing. Thank you so much, Sue and the team at Paws Connect. I cannot recommend enough! – Jian”
